It’s time for a vacation! From this blog at least. No worries though, I shall be returning. When, I do not know, but I do know these next few weeks are going to be very overwhelming. Over the next few weeks I will be moving….twice. I will ultimately be moving to a new city and taking on new jobs. One job confirmed and another one in the making. I will also be finishing up with the classes I am teaching right now and have at least 5 dance recitals to manage. With all that going on I need as much time as possible to pack, work, and keep myself from losing my head.
With that said, I will still be active on the Something Winnderful Facebook page, as well as Twitter and Instagram. Why should you follow me on those sights? One, to know when I return to posting, two, because I post some pretty awesome things. Following me through social media will keep you updated on food, style, and anything awesome I find online.
Join me in the social media world and I promise you will not be disappointed.
If you are an avid blog reader, you have probably heard Google Reader will cease to exist on June 1st. If you are like me and use Google Reader, you probably were pretty disappointed and unsure of what to do next. Well, this weekend I took the time to move from Google Reader over to Blovin, and I must say I wish I had done it sooner.
It really is so much easier. I love how easy it is to find new blogs to read and organize the ones you already follow. Signing up is also easy, you can use your Facebook account or your email address. If you want to follow Something Winnderful via Bloglovin click the button on the side of the page. I have a handy dandy picture below to help you find said button.
If you don’t use Bloglovin, you can click the RSS feed button above the Bloglovin button and find your reader from the list. If none of those option appeal to you, you can keep up with Something Winnderful via good ole’ classic email. Just enter your email in the “Follow Blog Via Email” option on the side of the page and a new post will be sent to you every time one posts.
While we’re at it, Something Winnderful is also all up in the social media world. You can click on the all pretty yellow social media icons on the right side of the page and check out my pages. Feel free to follow me on any of the sites I’ve got buttons for, like Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter and Instagram. I love to interact with my readers and those sites are the best way to do so!
Happy Friday! I’m about 85% over my bout with food poisoning. Since I’ve been bed ridden all week, I have just one thing to share with you all for my Friday Favorites. I am proud to announce that, I, Katie Winn of Something Winnderful, am now a Lucky Contributor.
What is a Lucky Contributor you ask?
A Lucky Contributor is a great part of the Lucky magazine’s online community. The Lucky Community consists of solely contributor based content and is a great place for all aspiring fashionistas. Here’s what its main page looks like.
Becoming a lucky contributor is pretty simple, you fill out the information, link to your blog, and you’re pretty much set. Each contributor has their own profile page linking to their blog and showing their posted articles. You are able to upload posts directly from you blog or create new ones on your contributor dashboard.
I love how easy the site allows you to upload content from your own blog. It’s also genius on Lucky’s side of things. They are able to have new content constantly uploaded on their site and still have the power to monitor and use what they really like in other places. It’s a win win situation for blogger and Lucky.
I have yet to truly dive in and work on gaining interest in my Lucky page, but I’m excited to use it as a source to grow Something Winnderful. What are your thoughts on the Lucky Community?
Friday has finally made its way here! I’m so excited for the weekend to finally arrive! I think Carl and I might be going to Greenville to visit the other love of his life, his adorable little Jack Russel named Pinky. All that’s between me and a lovely weekend is my time in the office. Here are a few of my favorite finds of the week to make the day go by faster.
The squeaking frog. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, click that link right now. RIGHT. NOW. Then prepare your heart to feel the greatest amount of cuteness it has ever had the pleasure of enduring. You may think I’m exaggerating, but I’ll have you know, this frog has been identified by multiple sources as the cutest thing ever. You can thank me later.
This recipe for Oriental Broccoli Cole Slaw. I made it Wednesday and it is fantastic. I made a big batch of it so we’re still snacking on it. The recipe is super simple and perfect for people like me. Every ingredient can be adjusted to your tasting. I left out the almonds, sunflower seeds and green onion and it still tasted great.
The blog Two Twenty One. This week I fell in love with this blog. For one, the layout is adorable, and two, just look at the projects page. I have this strange obsession with well organized things, and this blog most certainly is so. To me, her blog has a perfect balance of everything I want to read. She’s a newlywed, yet she used a separate blog to talk about her wedding so it’s not all in your face. I love it. You should check her out. Also, be sure to check her out on Pinterest, I’m still trying to go through all her boards, there’s just so much good stuff.
Artwork by Sanders Black. My old classmate from high school has created a new website for his artwork. I noticed the link on Facebook and and proceeded to drool over every piece in his gallery. It’s so great to be able to see how successful and talented your old friends have become. Check out some of my favorite pieces below, you can click on any of them to view his entire gallery.
There you have it! What great things have you come across this week?
